The HDSA Votes to Fund Body Armor for Reserve Deputies
We have always been hugely appreciative of the people who volunteer their time to be Reserve Deputies. They are sworn peace officers who, when on duty, share the same responsibilities and dangers as the full time Deputies. In addition to increasing safety throughout Teller County, they also save we tax payers a great deal.
One of the Reserve Sergeants brought to our attention that his Deputies were working without body armor or with substandard armor they purchased themselves and obsolete radios. So the Sergeant asked us for help.
One of the primary duties of the HDSA is to help provide safety and survivability gear for our volunteers in the Posse and Reserves. When presented with this request, it was a great opportunity for us to fulfill that duty.
The HDSA board voted unanimously to fund this request.
We are excited to be able to give back to those who volunteer to keep Teller County safe and #TellerStong.
